The pokémon are lifeless, they need some motion to legs and head and so on, and you should be able to have more controls when the pokémon is battling, and you should be able to choose to have them wandering the wilderness with you.
While you are referring to the animation of Pokémon, I will place down some suggestions of a dynamic system of movement that will cover all the ways Pokémon move in different parts of the world. Each mode of movement enables Pokémon to cross different environments. Depending on the Pokémon's ability to use a mode, its speed and agility vary when moving that way. The higher the ability, the faster it will move. A species has a maximum of four modes: one on land, one in air, one for underground or underwater, and a jumping height. Most species have just two or three. • Walk - Land • Jump - Height • Slither - Land • Climb - Trees • Fly (Bug) - Air - Bug type flight is like levitating. It is more agile, but costs more energy to sustain. • Fly (Bird) - Air - Bird type flight involves constant motion and is less agile, but costs less energy. • Levitate – Air – Costs more energy to sustain that Bird type flight. • Swim - Underwater • Dig - Underground • Jet - Underwater • Roll - Land
