The reason you run under water is because its not real water. I am sure that has been made with the free version of Unity3d. So what we will have to do is program the stuff. But if we are going to learn Swim we would not have to put the under water.
The water is unrealistic, yes, but in the grand scheme of things, it would make the array of available Pokemon at different depths much wider. Perhaps in the future we can continue the discussion of HM moves like Surf or Dive to enhance the game play, but I firmly believe that Magikarp near the surface of the water in larger bodies/smaller fish in smaller bodies, and Shellder, Tentacool, etc. in deeper areas. I also understand the long-standing admiration of the fishing rods for us original players, but I confess a certain degree of unrealistic bother from trying to catch non-fish-like Pokemon on a fishing pole. I think the specifics of animation should be dealt with after the bulk of the content has been added.
